  • Compared to Jan-Jun ’08, Print ad volumes has seen decline of 2% during Jan-Jun’09.
  • Among all the sectors advertised in Print, ‘Education’ sector has highest share i.e. 19% followed by ‘Services’ and ‘Banking/Finance/Investment’ sector with 11% and 9% share respectively during Jan-Jun’09.

  • Top 10 categories contributed for 44% share of overall Print ad pie during the 1st half of 2009.’Educational Institutions’ was the top category in Print advertising.
  • ’Social Advertisements’ and ‘Cars/Jeeps’ were at 2nd and 3rd place with 10% and 4% share respectively. Top 10 Categories comprised of 3 categories from ‘Services’ sector and 2 were from ‘Education’ sector.
  • During H1 ’09, ‘Sanitary Napkins’ was the top category to record highest growth in its Print ad volumes compared to H1 ‘08.
  • ’Fireworks’ and ‘Vermicelli’ has observed 2nd and 3rd highest growth in its Print ad volumes during H1’08 compared to H1’09.

  • ‘Tata Motors Ltd’, ‘Planman Consultant India P Ltd’ and ‘SBI (State Bank Of India)’ were the top 3 advertiser in Print during H1 ’09.
  • ‘Tata Motors Ltd’ and ‘Pantaloons Retail India Ltd’ were the only 2 advertisers among top10 list to maintain their respective ranks during H1’09 and H1’08.
  • Compared to H1 ’08, ‘Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’, ’Hero Honda Motors Ltd’ and ‘Life Insurance Corp of India’ have moved up max. places to be among the Top 10 list of advertisers in Print during H1 ’09.
